Private-service disclosure

EstateMarshal is a private research service and is not affiliated with any government agency. Searching and claiming unclaimed property is free directly from each state.

What we do

• We search state unclaimed-property databases and name-searchable federal sources for matches to a deceased person under every name and address they used.
• We score the matches, label each source as automated or manual with the date searched, and compile a research report with findings, a credential-gated checklist, and the documents typically required to claim.
• We sell a flat-fee research report to the professional advisor (attorney, CPA, or other fiduciary who is not the claimant).

What we never do

• We never charge a contingency or percentage fee.
• We never file claims on anyone's behalf, hold a power of attorney, or draft claim letters for heirs.
• We never contact owners or heirs directly.
• We never collect Social Security numbers. Sources that require an SSN are listed as executor-run checklist steps in the report.
• We never advise on entitlement, priority among heirs, or how to draft any legal document. Our reports state facts and link to official instructions.
